Welcome! I'm Lindsey :) I have a Youtube channel, Beautybaby44, where I share my love for makeup, fashion, hair, and all things girly! I adore looking at other beauty blogs, and that inspired me to start my own. I'm very new to this, but I'm excited to get started! Here I plan on posting about new beauty products I try, nail/outfit/makeup of the day posts, updates on my life, and whatever else! I hope you enjoy :)
It's time for another nail of the day! This week I've been wearing a new purchase of mine, 'Pilates Hottie' by Essie. And I'm slightly obsessed with it. This is a beautiful light lilac color. I've been very into Essie lately- I find they continually release unique colors that I haven't seen before, like this one!
'Pilates Hottie' went on creamy and opaque. I used two coats, but you could probably get away with one, I've been searching a while for the perfect lilac, and I think it's this polish! I definitely recommend picking it up if you're interested; you won't be disappointed! You can find this color at Ulta, most drugstores, Target, or wherever Essie is sold. Let me know if you're going to be trying it out!
Today I'm excited to share with you a product I've been using for the past few months. It's the Loreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Gelee. I have the shade Medium Natural Tan, as that's the only one my drugstore had. This product is different than most self tanners because it's not a lotion or spray, but a gel. I love that about it, and I find the gel consistency faster to apply than a lotion, while giving you the same control as one. Here's what the product looks like on your skin before you rub it in:
It applies very smoothly and quickly for me. Unless I know I'll be wearing a bathing suit or something backless, I usually only apply self-tanner to my legs, chest, neck, shoulders, and arms. I sometimes do my stomach too depending on if I think it's necessary. This way helps me to avoid using unnecessary product on places that will be covered by my clothes, and to be honest I still haven't gotten used to applying self tanner on my back by myself! It's next to impossible to not miss a few spots there.
When rubbing the product in, it turns to a more clear color as you can see below. It feels slightly sticky right after applying, but it will soak in quickly and it doesn't stain my clothes at all.
As for results, this is the best self tanner I've ever used. It gives instant color in a few hours, doesn't streak, and the best part: It lasts days longer then any other tanner I've used- I'm talking a good 4-5 days with one use. With other products, I find myself self-tanning every other night to maintain a nice color, but with this one, I only use it once, maybe twice a week. Another pro? It's available at the drugstore. Prior to this, I was using the St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse. It was okay, but it costs $30+ and never gave me enough color with one use. I like to apply a self-tanner once and have it give me a tan. I'm not into gradual products, but that's just my personal preference.
My only con with this product, and pretty much every self tanner I use, is that I get slight lines on my ankles and wrists separating my natural skin color and my self-tanned skin color. So I'm asking for your help! How do I avoid the line on my wrists, when after tanning I have to wash my hands well so my palms don't turn orange? (Which, by the way, this product doesn't do- that was another HUGE issue I had with the St. Tropez one). The soap and water washes the product off my hands, so I get the line! And how do I avoid the line on my ankles? I usually don't apply self-tanner to my feet because it ends up streaky. Any tips on how to apply it evenly to my feet? Thanks!
That's about it! Overall, I would highly recommend the Loreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Gelee. I have naturally very pale skin, and it's not orangy or unnatural looking on me! You can purchase it at drugstores, Target, and places like that for about $8-$10. I don't think I'll be purchasing high-end self tanners anymore, because the price of the ones I've tried hasn't been worth it for me! I'll stick to the drugstore. :)
First of all, apologies for my lack of blog posts lately! I just started school this week so I've been a busy bee. I am going to be posting more regularly now!
It's been ages since I did a nail post. That is because up until Sunday, I had a shellac manicure that lasted literally half the summer. It was amazing and I highly recommend getting one if you want a color that lasts weeks. Anyway, I finally took it off because my nails had grown out too much, and replaced it with a color I picked up recently: 'Boxer Shorts' from Essie.
When I spotted this color, it was love at first sight. It's from the
"Yogaga" collection that released sometime in July I believe. When
looking at the polish in the bottle, it reminded me of 'Bikini So
Teeny', but on the nails they are completely different. 'Boxer Shorts'
is the perfect indigo blue. The purple in it comes out more on the nails
than you can see from just looking at it in the bottle.
I am obsessed with this polish! It's definitely a new favorite for me :) It applied wonderfully with no problems. I highly recommend it! I think it's a very unique color, as nothing in my collection is too similar. That's when you know it's a good one.
I hope you enjoyed this short post. There will be many more to come soon! Let me know in the comments below if you'll be giving 'Boxer Shorts' a try!
Today I reached 150,000 subscribers on my beauty channel. The first thought that popped into my head was YES! another milestone, another number- A number that I knew and understood, but a number I could never picture as hard as I tried. 150,000 people? I can't even fathom it. I realize more and more every time I reach a milestone that it's not at all about the numbers. It's about the people who make up those numbers, like you reading this. As I thought about that today, I felt compelled to say thank you- but not just a post on Twitter or mention in a video like I do all the time. I wanted to write to you in a more personal way, and the best way I could think of to do that was my blog.
It is honestly impossible for me to put into words how grateful I am for what Youtube has given me. To any of you reading this, thank you. Thank you for subscribing. Thank you for watching my videos (and enjoying them, hopefully). Thank you for giving me 150,000 friends. Thank you for being there for me when I feel like no one else is. Thank you for supporting me, and my dream to become something. Thank you for making me feel like what I'm doing is helpful. Thank you for allowing me to have my dream job. Thank you for giving me opportunities. Thank you for everything.
I hope you know that each and every one of you is extremely important to me. No matter how many viewers I ever get, I will always think of you as my friends- people I care about and want to make happy, and get crushed when I feel like I've disappointed. The most exciting parts of my days are when I get to upload a video and get your feedback. Although I still struggle with the small amount of haters that love to criticize me, I am overwhelmed with love and kind words from so many of you. The feeling I get when one of you tells me I made your day or that I inspire you.. I can't explain how much that means to me. I am forever thankful.
Wherever Youtube takes me and even one day when it's over, I will always have you guys in my heart. I love you so much!
Today I will be reviewing for you a brand new product that just launched today- the Sigma Beauty Brow Expert Brow Design Kit - that's a mouthful! If you missed my video on this where I show it and do a brow demo on how I use it, you can watch that here:
In a nutshell, this kit has absolutely everything that any girl needs for her brows. It features a total of 20 (yes, TWENTY) products to guarantee you get perfect brows.
*Click on any of the photos to enlarge them!*
The top of the palette holds your tools to shape and groom your brows. You get a pair of little scissors, an amazing pair of tweezers (they are my new fav), and 3 brow stencils if you are trying to shape your brows perfectly. The stencils come in 3 sizes- small, medium, and large.
The bottom of the palette has the fun stuff- 2 brow highlighting pencils, 2 basic brow pencils, a sharpener for those, 5 shadows to fill in any brow color, a clear brow gel, a tinted brow gel, and a dual brow brush with a spoolie on one end (E80) and a small angled brush (E75) on the other end, perfect for filling in the brows.
Here are swatches of the 5 brow colors. From left to right: Bella, Chloe, Scarlett, Natasha, & Valentina.
And here are swatches of the 4 pencils (2 to highlight brows, 2 to fill in brows) and the tinted brow gel (the clear one is self explanatory, right?) From left to right: Matte, Shimmer (highlighting pencils), Medium, Dark (brow pencils), & Tinted (brow gel).
The kit also comes with a dual ended brush. One end is a spoolie to comb through brows before or after doing them (E80), and the other end is a small angled brush to be used with the shadows for filling in the brows (E75). I love that this brush is 2-in-1 because I find it's exactly the 2 brushes I would need anyway, so having a small version of both that fits inside the kit is perfect.
Let's not forget about our tools! Here is a closer look of the 3 brow stencils, tweezers, and brow scissors. Can I also say how much I adore the magenta color of the tools? Too cute.
What more could you ask for in a brow kit? This gives you everything, and fits every hair color, making it a universal product. I am in love- I use this everyday now and it's just what I needed. I was seriously lacking in the brow department before this- I literally did nothing to them.
The kit retails for $69 exclusively on Sigma's website. I know it's a hefty price tag, but you are getting 20 products, including tools like tweezers, scissors, brushes, a sharpener, etc. If you are interested in the kit, you can purchase it here on Sigma's site! Also, you can get 10% off your purchase by using the coupon code 'AP2012' at checkout. This code goes through the end of July, so if you want the kit, hop on it now so you can save!
Today I wanted to show you a mini "blog haul" of 3 new items I picked up from MAC recently. Their newest collection, Heavenly Creature, was calling my name. I'm not typically one to buy from or obsess over their limited edition collections, simply because there are too many to keep up with! This one though, I knew I wanted a few things from. Let's get into the haul!
*Click on any photos to see them full size.*
Heavenly Creature is a collection filled with gorgeous mineralized products. These are known to suck me in! The first thing I purchased was the Mineralize Skinfinish in 'Star Wonder'. This is a beautiful product, swirled with peachy, golden, and pink tones. It swatches very well too, and had great pigmentation.
Next, I picked out a blush from the collection. I was swatching every product from the collection on my hand and had to wipe it off multiple times in the store before making my selection! (lol, this is the sign of an obsessed makeup hoarder). I went with my favorite swatch, and that was the Mineralize Blush in 'Solar Ray'- a shimmering peach swirled with orange tones.
Lastly, I chose from an amazing selection of 9 Mineralize Eyeshadows- the ones from this collection are highly pigmented and the best MAC has done in a while, in my opinion. I once again went through the swatch-then-wipe-then-repeat ritual, and settled on 'Magnetic Attraction'. As for how these products appears on the skin, this is my favorite thing I purchased. I wore this shadow in my new 40 Beauty Questions TAG video and SO many of you liked my eye look and asked for a tutorial! I will do one and have it up in the next couple weeks, because I'm love with the look!
That's all I picked up! I'm so happy with my choices! :) If you are a sucker for MAC's gorgeous mineralized products like I am, I suggest going to check out Heavenly Creature before everything is gone! I went to my MAC on the day they got the collection, and one of the blushes was already sold out. You can also shop the collection online from MAC's website, Nordstrom, or Macy's.
Thanks for reading loves! Have a fabulous Friday and weekend.
I'm more than excited to share with you a new outfit post. I just got home last night from my week long beach vacation. If you happen to be curious about what I did, I made daily vlogs and a beach house tour for my second channel that you can watch here. Anyway, on Friday night we went out to dinner and being me, I used that as an excuse to get all dressed up. We went to The Red Bar, which is an amazing restaurant in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. If you are ever in the Seaside/Grayton/Watercolor area, I highly recommend going!
My Dress is from American Eagle. You can find it online here. Since it's low-cut in the front and on the sides, I'm also wearing a light pink bandeau from Nordstrom Rack. They have them in every color and they're under $5.
My shoes are a new purchase from Old Navy. They were SUCH a bargain. I found them in the clearance section for $12- what?! Yeah- that's why I love Old Navy. They also have them online on sale for $15 here. If you're curious about my toe color, it is Essie 'Bikini So Teeny'. :)
My bag is by Urban Expressions and I got it here. If you want to see my video on what's inside my bag, you can watch that here!
Last but not least, I had to do some major arm candy! My brown wrap bracelet is from Jewelmint, the other three are all from Brandy Melville, and my watch is Michael Kors.
Thank you so much for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy these outfit posts! Let me know in the comments below if you want to see more of these. They are my favorite posts to do :)

As most of you know that keep up with my beauty videos, I am utterly obsessed with Sigma makeup brushes. I can't get enough- I own practically every individual brush as well as multiple brush sets. I've said it many times, but Sigma is a company I strongly believe in because of their excellent customer service, high quality brushes, and reasonable prices. Anyway, I've been lusting over their Performance Eyes Kit for months now, and I am happy to say I am now the proud owner of it. :)
Click any of the photos to enlarge them, I know they're a bit tiny!
This kit contains 8 eye brushes that each have a specific function- from basic shading, to tightlining and waterlining, this has it all. If you're looking to create a detailed full eye look or simply want a kit with every brush you could possibly need for the eyes, this is the product for you.
To give you a better idea of everything this kit includes, I'll list each individual brush and it's function, going from topto bottom based on the above photo:
E56 - Shader - Lid
E36 - Blending
E21 - Smudge (Upper & lower lashline)
E46 - Shader - Inner Corner
E47 - Shader - Crease
E17 - Waterline Liner (Area between your eye & lower lashline)
E16 - Tightline Liner (Area between your eye & upper lashline)
E11 - Eye Liner (Small so application is precise)
So, what are my thoughts on these brushes? Love, love, LOVE. Sometimes my basic brushes just don't do it for me when I want to create a complete look, and this kit gives you everything you need. Before these, I feel like my eye brushes collection was about 90% complete- I had all the basics, but was lacking the detailed and precise brushes. Now I feel like I have every eye brush I could EVER need!
The quality of them is awesome, as I would expect from Sigma. I am not disappointed with any of the brushes and I've been absolutely loving incorporating them into my makeup routine lately. I would highly recommend this kit to anyone- beginner or experienced. The Performance Eyes Kit retails for $55, which breaks down to a little less than $7 per brush.
You can purchase the kit on Sigma's website here. (BONUS! Sigma is offering 10% off all purchases in July with the coupon code 'AP2012' at checkout.) Go get you some, As Eleventhgorgeous would say ;)
Thanks for reading and let me know if you want more product reviews like this! :)
Welcome to my first outfit of the day post! After I hauled my new flag shorts in my LA Haul, many of you asked to see an Outfit of the Day when I wore them on the 4th. I originally thought I would just pair them with a white v-neck, add some accessories, and be done, but I changed my mind. To enlarge any of the photos below, just click them and they will be full-size.
My high-waisted flag shorts are from a flea market in Santa Monica. I'm not sure of the name, but it's only open on Sundays. To say i'm obsessed with these is an understatement.
Instead of a plain white v-neck, I decided to add more color and wear one of my favorite summer tops. It's a sheer top from Forever 21 with stripes and my favorite part, the pockets. I like that the stripes are vertical, because the ones on my shorts are horizontal and I think that they balance out in that way.
For accessories, I said hey, why not more red, white, and blue? So that's what I did. I'm wearing a blue beaded bracelet with a gold cross, a cream colored one with crosses, and a reddish-coral skull one. All three are from Brandy Melville. To see a closer photo, click here. My white & rose gold watch is by Michael Kors. I scored it for 40% off on Nordstrom's website, and it's my staple summer jewelry piece.
If you happen to be curious about my nail color, I did a Nail of the Day post on it here.
Lastly, for my shoes I'm wearing some basic nude braided sandals by Steve Madden. I got these at Nordstrom Rack for a great deal. On my toes is Essie's 'Bikini So Teeny'- How cute is this color?
That's about it! Hopefully you all enjoyed my first fashion post. Please let me know in the comments if you want to see more. I'm going to the beach next week and would love to post some of my outfits when I dress up there.
